MixBit App Launched By YouTube Founders
Users can record multiple clips as long as 16 seconds each, and can then edit up to 256 clips together, meaning that videos can be as short as 1 second or as long as 1 hour, allowing for creative social storytelling without the restricting time limits.
Not only this, but visitors of the MixBit site can make videos without shooting original content by using other’s clips, and creating a modern found footage video.
“We have always been passionate about video. We started YouTube to make it easy for everyone to share videos. Now we want to help people make great videos.” say Hurley and Chen, “The MixBit website is a community of creators. We believe everyone has something interesting to say. We give people fun, intuitive tools to help them tell stories together. We think video should be a living, breathing entity and that creativity is a collaborative process. More than simply capturing brief moments in time, we help people bring stories to life.”
Hurley and Chen co-created YouTube in 2005 before selling to Google for £1.o6 billion in 2006. YouTube is now the second biggest search engine in the world behind Google and has over 1 billion unique users each month.
