EtchRock came to Tech TV wanting a promotional video for their new social fitness platform. They told us that they planned to share their video across various social media platforms . So, as well as their main video, we also made them different versions of their video specifically tailored to social media. This included a full length, square version with subtitles and a short, 16-second version that could work without sound.
SQUARE VIDEO WITH SUBTITLES
15 SECOND SQUARE VERSION
This version has been tailored for sharing on Facebook. It is identical to the main video we produced, except for a few important details. It’s in a square format rather in the traditional wide-screen and it also has stylish subtitles burnt onto the video. This makes it ideal for Facebook because it’s been shown that square videos work better in your mobile feed. In addition, 85% of Facebook videos are watched with the sound off. Meaning that if people see your video playing and don’t see subtitles, they’ll just scroll past.
This 15-second version is a great social media all-rounder. It’s a cut-down version of the main video which gets straight to the point. It includes large bold text to grab your attention and help drive home the message. It’s also been edited to work without sound. This version will work nicely on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Studies have shown that 15-second adverts are on the rise, giving the view enough information they need to get hooked and want to find out more.
